The Seven Sleepers Series

The Seven Sleepers is a young adult Christian fantasy series by Gilbert Morris. He plagiarizes in roughly equal amounts from The Chronicles of Narnia and The Lord of the Rings, obviously doesn’t bother with proofreading or editing his books, forgoes anything remotely resembling logic or common sense, and occasionally engages in heavy-handed and obnoxious preaching. Inconsistencies, even within the same book, are rampant. Just for good measure, he also throws in some possibly unintentional racism, completely intentional sexism, and some homoerotic subtext.

The characters are walking stereotypes. The prose is thoroughly mediocre. And the plot has holes that are large enough to fly a 747 through. So fasten your seatbelt, and put your tray table up and your seat in its upright and locked position. We’ll be experiencing some turbulence.

  1. BUY VIAGRA AND TOOTSIE ROLLS.

Also, these are my favourite sporks of yours. 😀

    also also FIRST!

  2. I have already read your sporking of this entire series, but I have to comment yet. I’ll re-read them and comment in the following days, when I have the time. Thanks for taking the time to do these sporkings. In my opinion, studying bad literature can prove to be quite the experience in learning what not to do and what to avoid.
